KEIM’s non-fading mineral colors are due in part to Mother Nature. Mineral oxides are formed in the crust of the earth. It is here that color permanence is born—mineral colors that are inert and unaffected by U.V. radiation. They simply don’t change in weather or sun, no matter how extreme the exposure.
PURE MINERAL
Binder, pigment and water make up most of mineral paints. Here potassium silicate binder is paired with naturally occurring mineral pigments, ground from precious minerals and stones—for the longest lasting paint possible. The potassium silicate binder is not affected by U.V. radiation or weather. The mineral nature makes these paints completely inert and not affected by the extremes of weather and sun.
COLORS THAT WON’T FADE
We use only earthen mineral pigments, never man-made colorants, to ensure your colors last and last. The mineral oxide pigments found within the earth are completely stable and inert and are not negatively affected by U.V. rays, no matter how harsh the environment. Just look to nature to understand how these mineral colors remain true and stand the test of time.
And the mineral surface never develops a static charge like ordinary paints, so air-born dirt is not attracted to the surface, Natural rainfall rinses dirt and pollutants away from the surface so it remains bright and clean. And the high alkaline pH deters growth of mold and fungus naturally.
MINERAL COLORS ARE RADIANT
Mineral paint is made up of a crystal clear, crystalline “matrix” at the surface that holds pigment particles in place. The matrix radiates light in a way no ordinary paint can match and the sun’s rays actually react with each pigment particle. Ordinary paints shield pigment in a layer of milky acrylic that dulls the color and sunlight creates a harsh glare.
Mineral paints “glow” in both low and high light so even on a rainy day mineral paints appear brighter and livelier.
