MINERAL PAINT RADIATES LIGHT LIKE NO OTHER PAINT

Mineral paints are extremely matte flat and respond extraordinarily to all types of light. Light is diffused across the micro-crystalline surface for a luminous, luxurious look and feel. As light changes, so does your paint color’s appearance. Bright light brings your wall colors to vibrant life. Twilight lends a moodier, more subdued richness of color. Simply the most beautiful paint you can buy.

MINERAL PAINT IS RADIANT LIKE NO OTHER

Seeing a space painted with mineral paint for the first time might just take your breath away. The paint seems to meld into the walls for an incredibly natural appearance, unlike ordinary latex and acrylic paints. The texture and very matte finish provide a velvety, but rich and vibrant look and feel, while being incredibly light reflective. We’ve heard first time customers describe mineral colors as “lively” and “alive”—and we think it a very big compliment.

BEAUTY AND LIGHT

Mineral color derives its unparalleled beauty from a unique blend of mineral pigments and the crystal-clear binder of mineral paint and earthen quartz fillers.  The micro-crystalline paint finish looks and feels almost velvety which adds to the radiant appearance.  This moody shade is color 9382 which is almost luminescent in morning light and turns a deep olive in evening’s light.  The depth of color is remarkable with undertones of red oxide and yellow ochre.

LIGHT PLAYS A CRITICAL ROLE

The micro crystalline paint surface creates light reflectance that is more intense than ordinary paints. This light scattering effect makes mineral paint appear more luminous with a more vivid color appearance. Ordinary paints bounce light back in a uniform angle for a less lively appearance. At right see how light and shadow interplay to create a dramatic canvas. Throughout the day color shifts with natural sunlight. On low light days, mineral colors seem to “glow” and have a luminescent aura. Mineral colors are so dynamic and lively you will never see your walls in the same light again!

NOT ALL FLAT PAINTS ARE CREATED EQUAL

Below, is an illustration of how the crystalline surface of mineral paint radiates light in all directions. Pigment is embedded in a clear crystal structure, called water glass, so light reacts directly with pigment for the truest color and radiant appearance. Pigment’s true colors are never subdued by the paint’s binder.

At right you can see how acrylic resin encapsulates pigment in a very smooth milky layer.  The richness of pigment color may be “muted” by this layer resulting in less dynamic color and radiance. Acrylic ingredients also add “angular” sheen that even in flat finishes, can glare especially in direct light or when you view a wall or ceiling from an angle.  Mineral paints are among the flattest finishes and always look uniform and beautiful.

CRYSTAL CLEAR MINERAL BINDER IS ONE KEY TO VIBRANT COLOR

At left, Keim’s mineral silicate binder is crystal clear resulting in the common name of “water glass”. This is the “glue” that binds mineral paint to the surface and delivers such a unique appearance. It is also the source of Mineral Paint’s extraordinary durability and long life.

LIGHT—FAST MINERAL PIGMENTS ARE THE PERFECT PARTNER

The rarity and depth of color is owed also to the intense colors of natural mineral pigments. Used for centuries in artist paints for their extreme purity and strength of color, mineral pigments such as cobalt blue and chrome green, seen here, lend a sense of authenticity to the Rare Mineral Color™ collection which is simply unmatched in ordinary acrylic paints.
